About

Moving From Either/Or to Both/And...

I believe life is a balancing act. Sometimes life throws curve balls and throws you off balance. Part of what I do as a therapist is help you to get to where you want to be by finding balance. I assist people in identifying and accepting where they are to promote success in moving forward and initiating the change that is required to promote a healthy well-being. Sometimes stress piles up, or emotions prompt us to do things we aren't proud of, other times, we act without thinking or are not sure what to do or where to go from here. I believe it is important to meet you where you are and part of that is helping you to accept your life where it is while encouraging you to make the change that is needed. I work under the assumption that people are doing the best they can and often benefit from a therapeutic perspective. I have completed a 6 month long comprehensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In addition, I recently completed an intensive training in Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Most of my therapeutic techniques focus on changing maladaptive thinking and coping strategies.
